Research & Partnerships - Overview

The faculty of the Department of Computer Science maintain an active research agenda in a variety of fields within computer science. Our faculty are actively engaged with the educational and scientific communities through publication of books and papers, conference presentations, research grants, consulting, and service on working groups.

There are many opportunities for students to become involved in research projects. Our independent study course allows students to earn elective credit for study on a topic of interest under supervision of a faculty member. Students may elect to complete a thesis, which is a two-semester research and writing project, in collaboration with a faculty member. Students who are working as graduate assistants often work directly with faculty members in support of research.
