Computer Science Department Signs Education Partnership Agreement with DC3
The Computer Science Department at James Madison University and the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) have signed an Education Partnership Agreement. The goals of the partnership are "...to educate cyber forensic professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, and Educational Institution faculty by providing a mechanism under which selected students and faculty can participate in projects of interest to DC3 and the Educational Institution. The projects benefit interns and faculty, and may provide special knowledge, job experience, certifications, and academic credit. Interns and faculty also benefit from working in unique facilities, working with unique equipment, and interacting with DC3 staff."
The agreement also will give students and faculty access to state-of-the-art technology and tools, the opportunity to exchange ideas and information with DC3 researchers, and open up internship and collaboration possibilities. Furthermore, the agreement will strengthen the newly created Digital Forensics graduate concentration through an increase in visibility, added opportunities for the graduate students, and an enhancement of the curriculum through any collaborative efforts.
